Atchison Fire Department Receives Fema and Kansas Pipeline Grants

0Comments

The Atchison Fire Department recently received notification that they were awarded an equipment grant from FEMA’s Assistance to Firefighter’s grant program. This funding will assist the department with the purchase of needed fire hose to replace aging hose that has failed recent, required testing. The department also received a grant form the Kansas Pipeline Association which will provide funding for equipment related to the departments response to natural gas related incidents. The department is waiting on word from FEMA on the status of a grant that is pending that would provide funding for the purchase of a new fire truck. The announcement should be made in the next few weeks.
