The City is seeking non-profit partners to collaborate in advancing quality of life and development efforts in the Atchison community through major capital improvements.

The American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) is a $1.9 trillion economic stimulus bill passed by the United States federal government that provided direct funding to local governments in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The City of Atchison received approximately $1.6 million through the ARPA legislation.

The City of Atchison has appropriated $150,000 of the $1.6 million in ARPA funding toward capital projects that improve local non-profit organizations. The ARPA Non-Profit Capital Support Program will prioritize projects that benefit senior citizens and youth populations as well as projects in the downtown district. This program is NOT intended to provide operational support for non-profit organizations. Applications will be received until January 31, 2023 and award decisions are expected by the end of February 2023. The application document is available here: shorturl.at/gmDE7

Anyone interested in the ARPA Non-Profit Capital Support Program should contact Justin Pregont with Pomeroy Development (justinp@cityofatchison.com).
