RegisteredNursing.org has released its annual list of the Best RN Programs in each state and the Benedictine College School of Nursing has been named the #1 Nursing Program in Kansas. Nursing programs were assessed on several factors which represent how well a program supports students towards licensure and beyond. Learn more about the methodology here. Benedictine’s School of Nursing has also been named one of the best in the Plains Region (over 300 institutions in Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota) by Nursing Schools Almanac.
“It’s a wonderful honor to be ranked as the #1 nursing program in Kansas,” said Jacki Harris, director of the Benedictine College School of Nursing. “It is truly a testament to the dedication of our students, faculty, and staff. We are so appreciative of the support of the college administration, donors, alumni and so many friends of our nursing school.”
The RegisteredNursing.org website is managed by registered nurses who care deeply about the profession and work to provide the resources future nurses need to succeed. Their goal is to help bring those interested in nursing from the research phase to enrollment to landing that first RN job and beyond.
“Congratulations to the entire Benedictine team on this outstanding accomplishment,” said Sally Worthington, Outreach Coordinator at Registered Nursing.org. “We wish your team and students continued success.”
Benedictine College began clinical nursing courses in August 2010 with the dedication of the Mother Teresa Center for Nursing & Health Education. That facility includes classrooms, a clinical skills lab, a high-fidelity simulation room, a birthing simulator, faculty offices, additional administrative offices, an area for practicing clinical assessment skills, and several computer labs and study areas for students. The college granted its first Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degrees in May 2012. The philosophy of the Benedictine College Department of Nursing is in concert with the mission statement and philosophy of the college, which emphasizes the Benedictine values and ethics of community, hospitality, respect, stewardship and love of learning. With these values comes the expectation of high standards and accountability to society. As a scholarly community of nursing faculty and students, a special emphasis is placed on the spiritual care and psycho-social support of patients as well as fostering positive leadership within the nursing profession and healthcare.
