Women's Wrestling has Dominant 42-7 Win Over York

The University of Saint Mary Women's Wrestling team competed against York University, resulting in a 42-7 win.

The Spires got off to a great start, with Alyssa Cordova winning the first match in the 101 weight class. After earning a 4-0 lead, her opponent gained ground, but Cordova was able to escape with an 18-6 victory. The 109 and 116 classes extended the Spire lead with open matches. Teya Villalpando cruised to a 12-2 win in the 130 weight class after a slow start.

The Spires did not let up as Araya Boday, and Daisy Schulz won with a tech fall and fall.

Rebecca Koolstra won an exciting match to wrap up the evening as she won by fall after being down early. The 170 class, as well as the 191 class, were both won by the Spires with open matches. This gave Saint Mary the 42-7 win.
