Sam Ungashick and Jayden Temme earn All-Heart Men's Basketball honors; Ungashick named Freshman of the Year

Two members of the Benedictine Men's Basketball team earned All-Heart honors on Thursday as the conference released the 2023 All-Heart Men's Basketball team.

Sam Unghashick was named the Heart Freshman of the Year along with earning an honorable mention All-Heart. Jayden Temme joined Ungashick with an honorable mention All-Heart selection. 

Through the end of the regular season, Ungashick is second on the team in scoring at 12.1 points. He is shooting 49.2 percent from the floor and 80 percent at the free-throw line. He has 30 steals and 102 assists while he is averaging 4.8 rebounds.

Temme is third on the team in scoring, averaging 11.8 points. HE is shooting 42.2 percent from the floor while he is third on the team with 52 3-pointers at 37.7 percent from beyond the arc. He is averaging 5.2 rebounds per game with 14 steals, 9 blocks, and 50 assists.

The Ravens earned the No. 8 seed in the 2023 Heart Men's Basketball Tournament – the program's 12th consecutive trip to the Heart playoffs – and take on top-seeded and NAIA No. 8 William Penn University tonight at 6 p.m. in Oskaloosa, Iowa.
