During his commencement address at Benedictine College, Harrison Butker, the kicker for the Kansas City Chiefs said graduates should not be afraid of sharing their beliefs or "fear speaking truth" despite being in the minority.

"Our own nation is led by a man who publicly and proudly proclaims his Catholic faith but at the same time is delusional enough to make the sign of the cross during a pro-abortion rally," said Butker. "The world around us says that we should keep our beliefs to ourselves whenever they go against the tyranny of diversity, equity and inclusion. We fear speaking truth because now unfortunately truth is in the minority."

In his address to the graduating class at Benedictine College, Butker shared a message of perseverance and conviction. He voiced criticism towards poor leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic. "As a group you witnessed firsthand how bad leaders who don't stay in their lane can have a negative impact on society," he said. Butker underscored the importance of authentic leadership that aligns with moral and ethical values.

Butker stressed the significance of standing firm in religious and moral convictions during his address. He expressed concern over societal pressures against religious beliefs. His critique extended particularly to leaders who promote abortion and gender ideologies while proclaiming their Catholic faith. "We must always speak in act in charity but never mistake charity for cowardice," Butker said, advocating for courage amidst popular opposition.

According to All American Speakers Bureau, Butker has distinguished himself in the National Football League (NFL) with a career field goal percentage of 89.1%, ranking second in NFL history. A Georgia Tech alumnus, Butker was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the seventh round of the 2017 NFL draft before later joining the Kansas City Chiefs. His achievements include leading NFL scoring in 2019 and contributing to three Super Bowl victories for the Chiefs - Super Bowls LIV, LVII, and LVIII.

Besides his sports career, Butker serves on the Board of Directors for Regina Caeli Academy and is Honorary Chairman for Dream Factory of Greater Kansas City which fulfills wishes of critically or chronically ill children.
