Job description
The Water Maintenance Worker is part of a dedicated team charged with the maintenance and operation of the city’s network of water and wastewater lines and systems. Duties and responsibilities include laying/fitting pipe; performing water line repairs; site restoration; cleaning work space and equipment and performing a variety of tasks in the operation and maintenance of the department. This position will also require occasional meter reading duties as assigned.

Required: 18 Years or Older with a High School Diploma or G.E.D., a valid drivers license and a pre-employment drug and physical screening. Ability to work Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. with overtime on nights and weekends for emergency repairs, including a weekly on-call rotation. EMPLOYEES WILL RECEIVE ADDITIONAL ON-CALL PAY.

Preferred Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have the ability to obtain a commercial drivers license within 6 months of employment, resulting in a promotion to Maintenance Worker II. Training, equipment and testing expenses are provided. Experience is preferred, but not required. Willing to train the right individual.
