Brian Burch, president of the Catholic Vote organization, said that Kansas City Chiefs' Kicker "Harrison Butker is to be applauded for courageously speaking out" during his commencement speech at Benedictine College.

"Harrison Butker is to be applauded for courageously speaking out in defense of the unborn--even taking on Biden," Burch told NE Kansas News. "This is not the first time the NFL star has used his bully pulpit to defend what is right--and this would be a better country if more athletes and celebrities would show the same kind of courage."

According to MSN.com, Super Bowl champion kicker Harrison Butker said self-proclaimed "Catholic" Joe Biden's stance on abortion is "delusional." Biden "has been so vocal in his support for the murder of innocent babies that I’m sure to many people it appears that you can be both Catholic and pro-choice," Butker said in his speech.

MSN reported Butker also said: "He is not alone. From the man behind the COVID lockdowns, to the people pushing dangerous gender ideologies onto the youth of America, they all have a glaring thing in common — they are Catholic. This is an important reminder that being Catholic alone doesn’t cut it." Butker added: "stop pretending that the church of nice is a winning proposal."

Butker has publicly weighed in on a lot of political, religious and cultural issues, including IVF, surrogacy, euthanasia, as well as the "growing support for the degenerate cultural values and media [that] stem from pervasiveness of disorder."

"The world around us says that we should keep our beliefs to ourselves," Butker said, "whenever they go against the tyranny of diversity, equity and inclusion." Butker said. "We fear speaking truth, because now, unfortunately, truth is in the minority." “Our own nation is led by a man who publicly and proudly proclaims his Catholic faith, but at the same time is delusional enough to make the sign of the cross during a pro-abortion rally.”

Madison, Wisconsin-based Catholic Vote is an advocacy organization that wants to “inspire every Catholic in America to live out the truths of our faith in public life,” according to the group’s website. Founded in 2008, its president is Brian Burch.
